Tour Itinerary

Meet your local tour guide this morning and start your stunning Inle Lake tour to Kakku as you travel one hour by road to Taunggyi then continue for about one more hour to Kakku, (depending on road and weather conditions). Along your way, enjoy the beautiful scenery of luscious, green pastures, exotic bamboo and wood houses, scenic rice paddies and plantation.

Upon Kakku, visit the Kakku Pagoda complex of more than 2000 stupas with similar shape and size. The site is believed to date back to over 2000 years ago. Take a stroll through the pagoda to explore the unique shrines made from brick and plastered with stucco. Among them, some are well-preserved, some are crumbled off, others have trees and bushes growing out them All are put together to create a wonderful scenery to capture some good snapshots.
Then, lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

Kakku pogoda

Afterward, continue to visit Htan-Pha-Ya village and cave. Upon here, you will discover the unknown Shan Buddha images of various sizes are kept on the wall of the small shallow Htan-Pha-Ya cave.
The next highlight is a typical Pa’O village including their plantations on the way back to Taunggyi. As a legend, the Pa’O believe that they are descendants of the dragon. Once upon a time, the legend goes that there was a female dragon came to earth and disguised to be human, then she met and fell in love with an alchemist. Their children later became the king and princess of the kingdom and create the Pa’O people. During your visit, let’s spend time to learn more about their life and share your own culture with the locals.
