Upstream Itinerary: Pagan – Mandalay

Pickup at the airport. We will enjoy half day city tour to explore Bagan. This sightseeing offers a close observation to the daily life of Myanmar people at a market and the rich architecture at the most famous pagodas in Bagan. At first, Bagan Sightseeing starts with busy NYAUNG-U MARKET which is a local market in the village of Nyaung U to the northeast of Bagan. The Nyaung U Market provides great photo opportunity, and also the chance for tourists to mingle with the local Myanmar people, and watch how they conduct their daily lives. Then enjoy the rest of your time dedicated to discovering Bagan temples including: SHWE-ZIGON PAGODA, the prototype of later Myanmar stapes; ANANDA TEMPLE, the architectural masterpiece of a millennium

Free to relax and explore Pagan till pickup. Transfer to the port for embarking your ship in Pagan before lunch.

End the day with a visit to Dhamayangyi from AD 1170, the widest and largest temple in Pagan.

Explore Yandabo village, famous for its production of terracotta pottery from the river bank clay.

This village is well-known as the place where the first Anglo-Burmese war ended by the peace treaty signed in 1826. Morning walking tour and a visit to a pottery workshop to see first-hand the production process. This is a hands-on experience which you are welcome to try.

Disembark the Pandaw cruise after breakfast 09.00 at Sagaing Lay Kyun Man Aung Jetty.

Here, our guide will pickup you up for visiting Mandalay. Drive to ancient capital of Amarapura, the city of Immortality for a visit to Bagaya Monastery with a famous collection of Buddha images; weaving industries, two-century old U-Bein teak bridge on the Taungtaman Lake and observe the lunch process of thousand of monks who take their last meal of the day at 10:00 am in total silence. Proceed to Mandalay and check in at the hotel.
After refreshment, you will take a sightseeing tour of Mandalay which includes Mahanumi, a life like Buddha image. Mandalay is the last capital of Myanmar and that make her to be the best place to see all the traditional arts and crafts. Start visiting gold leaf making work-place and see how the gold leaf is being made by hand in a traditional way. Continue visit the Old Palace grounds; Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world’s largest book for its 729 marble slabs inscribed with the Buddha’s Doctrine; Golden Palace Monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carvings and enjoy the panoramic view of the city from Mandalay Hill.

Cancellation by Customer
Cancellation is not confirmed till we receive your official email. For cancellations of bookings, the following charges will apply:

  • A 30% deposit of your total booking value is required upon confirmation and is non refundable.
  • Final balance must be paid 75 days before departure or the booking will be cancelled and the deposit forfeited.
  • Certain special offers may require higher non-refunable deposits. These will be advised to you at the time of booking.

Children from 5 years up to 11 years old get:

  • 1 adult and 1 child – 1 cabin – child receives 30% reduction from adult price.
  • 2 adults and 1 child – 2 cabins – 1 cabin with no single supplement and 30% reduction for the child.
  • 2 adults and 2 children – 2 cabins – 30% reduction for both children.
    Larger family groups – prices on request.
