Start the day by visiting the museum at the former Royal Palace Museum, built between 1904 & 1905, during the French colonial rule as a residence for King Sisavangvong. This fascinating museum features the original royal chambers, paintings depicting traditional Lao life, a throne room, and four of the old royal cars.

We then continue to the monasteries of Wat Xieng Thong which was built by King Sayasettha in 1559. It is also known as the most beautiful temple in Luang Prabang. We then visit Wat Visoun temple which was built over 500 years ago in 1513. This beautiful temple is one of the best representations of the ancient architectural style of Luang Prabang.
After enjoying lunch we head to Ock Pop Tok weaving center – a Lao fair trade textile enterprise.
The next stop is the incredibly scenic Kuang Xi Waterfall. This is one of the most famous sights in Laos and is surrounded by turquoise blue pools, an idyllic place for swimming!
On the way back from the waterfall we will pass through the Free the Bears Center, a rescue center for endangered Asiatic black bears. This pan-Asian organization provides a home for bears rescued from poachers and traffickers. After leaving the bear rescue centre we will travel to Lao’s only buffalo dairy where you can try a selection of buffalo cheese and ice cream.

We then drive back to Luang Prabang where we will finish the tour with a visit to Wat Phousi on top of the central hill in Luang Prabang to finish the day with a rewarding view of the city at sunset.
