Mingalabar! Welcome to the majestic Yangon!
Today, meet your guide at the airport then transfer to the hotel for check-in and taking a short break. After that, we spend the rest of the day to discover the fabulous city of Yangon. Get on your private car and transfer to the downtown city where you will catch the best image of British colonial faded on the street building. Stop at Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, one of the most sacred Buddhist pagodas in Yangon to admire the famous 66 meters long reclining Buddha image.
Then we also visit Sule Pagoda, the 2500-year-old pagoda in the heart of Yangon. Next, soak up the hustle and bustle atmosphere of Bogyoke Aungsan Market, the largest bazaar in Yangon. It’s where you will find an array of Burmese and Chinese products such as textiles, handicrafts, painting especially gems and jewelry. (Note: the market is closed on Mondays and gazette holiday).
Overnight in Yangon.
After breakfast, our driver will pick you up early in the hotel to transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Bagan. Upon arrival, head to the local Nyaung U Market to get a glimpse at the local pace of life. The market is where you will find a variety of interesting local products. There you will have a chance to engage with the friendly people whose faces are covered with Tanaka make-up.
Continue your Bagan tour with a visit to Shwezigon Pagoda, one of the most sacred religious sites in Myanmar. Perhaps it is one of the most well-known gilded pagodas in Myanmar that enshrines the Buddha’s relics. Then your guide also takes you to Kyanzittha Umin, a tunnel with an interesting feature of exotic paintings. Proceed to Htilominlo Temple, the majestic 46-meter tall sanctuary which is among the largest monuments on the plains of Bagan.
In the afternoon, visit Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece built on Mon style. It is also known as the finest, largest, best-preserved, and most reserved of Bagan temples. Head to Dhamayangyi, the largest temple on the plains of Bagan. In the late afternoon, transfer to the jetty to embark on a small boat sailing along the poetic Irrawaddy River and enjoy the stunning sunset view over the region.
In the afternoon, visit Gubyaukgyi Temple, the temple of everlasting ancientness. Spend your time to marvel at the fine stuccowork from the Bagan period. Continue to Nanpaya Temple, which was built in the Mon style noted for its intricated stone carvings. The legend said that it was once the residence of King Manuha
This morning, say goodbye to Bagan to take a domestic flight to Heho, the gateway to Inle Lake. On arrival, get on a private boat trip to explore the natural beauty of the lake. Head to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in southern Shan State, where enshrines five of 800-year-old images of the Buddha covered with gold.
After that, pass through the endless floating gardens to gaze out at the exceptional agricultural method of the Intha people. Then you will visit a weaving workshop to learn more about the process of making the finest fabric in the world from lotus stem. Before returning to the hotel for check-in, visit a local factory of boat making and canoe carving.
This morning, take a scenic boat trip to Indein Village to marvel at the man-made masterpiece of 1600 ancient stupas in different shapes and colors in Shwe Indein Temple. It is also home to the Pa-Oh people, who dress in colorful attires that you will meet along the way to the temple.
In the afternoon, our driver will take you to the airport to take a flight back to Yangon.
Overnight in Yangon.
After breakfast, our guide with say goodbye to you and the driver will transfer you to the airport or hotel where your holiday ends.
