Today you will depart Yangon and drive for one hour to the charming town of Syriam ( also called Thanlyin). It was once a major port from the 15th until the Portuguese rule in the 17th century. Take a boat to see Ye Le Paya Temple (also called Kyauktan). Set on a tiny island in the river, this is a small but very ancient pagoda in which enshrines many Buddha relics. Amazingly, along with the historical flow, the pagoda has never been inundated no matter how high the tide and has enough space for visitors no matter how crowded the platform is.
The next highlight is the hilltop Kyaik Khauk Pagoda, the main attraction and pilgrimage site in Syriam. It is said that to date back over 200o years ago which houses 2 hair of the Buddha. Gain a panoramic view of the beautiful area before leaving for an excursion through the riverside market and visit two further pagodas before your drive back to Yangon. Trip ends.
